Jalen Griffith led the charge with an outstanding performance, scoring 16 points, dishing out six assists, and stealing the show with a career-high five steals. Jayden Brewer contributed 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while Brady Swartz added 11 points. Michael Sulaka also made his mark with a career-best 10 points.
The game's momentum shifted when the score was tied at 12-12. Western Michigan went on a relentless 11-2 run, extending their lead to 23-14. Despite Defiance's efforts to narrow the gap to 23-19, the Broncos responded with a 10-point surge, taking a commanding 40-24 lead. They carried this momentum into halftime, leading 48-32.
The second half saw the Broncos continue their dominant performance, outscoring Defiance 8-3 in the early stages. A stunning 18-3 run in the latter part of the half pushed their lead to 88-50, and they eventually reached their largest lead of the day at 92-53. The Broncos' shooting accuracy was impressive, with 54.4 percent (37-of-68) from the field, and an even more impressive 81.0 percent (17-of-21) from the free-throw line. In contrast, Defiance struggled, connecting on only 35.8 percent (19-of-53) of their field goal attempts.
